Anyone Can Whistle
“Cory Shipp’s design reflects the casts unadulterated joyousness, with wild 70’s prints and garish clashing colours.”
“At first the decision to stage the show in a traverse setting felt confusing, with the actors ending up in a restricted playing space. However, within minutes I understood Designer Cory Shipp’s choice and praised her and Rankcom’s decision to create a space where the audience immediately become part of the action: I would, though, encourage anyone scared of interaction to not sit on the front row or else Alex Young may be after you! Shipp’s use of colour, bold patterns and simple set complement the show beautifully, creating Sondheim’s perfect world of colour and light.”

“Bold, colourful and brilliant, the set design by Cory Shipp (also responsible for the fabulously loud costumes) can’t help but put a smile on your face”

“Somehow accomplishing Simple and other busy songs on a thin strip of stage, Georgie Rankcom’s production brilliantly gives the show new contexts. Psychedelic costumes (Cory Shipp) suggest how it anticipated (if satirically) “hippy” musicals of the next decade such as Godspell, Jesus Christ Superstar and Pippin.”
